The Place of Prayer and Fasting!
I know the place of fasting and prayer when it comes to our walk with God, this is quite necessary and important.
However, could anyone show me example of one person that prayed and fasted in heaven? I heard you saying but the rich man prayed in Luke 16:19-31. The rich man prayed in hell (vs.23) not in heaven. The angels do not fast and pray in heaven, they simply worship and carry out God's commands. You may say, that is heaven but we are here on earth. I agree with you but to stress my point further remember that even Adam and Eve while in the Garden of Eden did not fast and pray once in a day, oh o! I told you from outset that this group is not meant for jelly Christians. So Bisi what's your point? Very simple!
Your fasting and prayer is an indication or symptoms that something is missing! ("You have started again Bisi," I hear you). We pray and fast right-way for the Kingdom of God to come (Luke 2:25-32, Matthew 6:9-10). Once the Governor is present in the Colony, we feast. This is not my word let us hear from the horse's mouth:
_They asked him, "John's disciples are well-known for keeping fasts and saying prayers. Also the Pharisees. But you spend most of your time at parties. Why?"_
_Jesus said, "When you're celebrating a wedding, you don't skimp on the cake and wine. You feast. Later you may need to pull in your belt, but isn't the time. As long as the bride and groom are with you, you have a good time. When the groom is gone, the fasting can begin. No one throws cold water on a friendly bonfire. This is Kingdom Come!..."_

Are you asking people not to pray and fast? No! On the contrary, Jesus fasted and prayed more earnestly to the extent that His blood's capillary got broken and His sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground - Luke 22:44. He interceded to birth the Kingdom. He travail in prayer in order to deliver the Kingdom of God. He also taught the disciples to pray for the Kingdom of God to come - Matthew 6:9-10. Is this what you and I use our prayers and fasting to ask God for today? It's a self to be answered questions.
Peace in heaven joy on earth because the King is born. He has brought the Governor back to the Colony. "As long as the bride and groom are with you, you have a good time." As long as the Holy Spirit is with you, you feast, you rejoice, the Kingdom of God is Righteousness, Peace and Joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17). Also, as long as the bride and groom are with you, you have a good time so, pray and fast for the bride and groom to remain with you forever in order to have a good life and time. That is the place of prayer and fasting!
